"I have found this resource really useful for children with Autism / Asperger Syndrome who are good readers but struggle to understand meaning and answer questions about the text. In a fun and visual way they are introduced to the type of questions that enable them to make ‘good guesses’ by using clues in the pictures and text. I have used this resource with pupils from KS1-2 to teach them inference skills one-to-one and in small groups. With these cards they can be shown how to find key words and read context in a simple way whilst not being overloaded by too much information. These cards and the games you can play with them are also helpful in enabling support assistants to become familiar with the specific type of questions for inference skills, which can then lead to the same type of questions being asked of longer texts such as in reading books. A great resource to support a particular area of difficulty for many children on the autistic spectrum."Lynn McCann, Specialist Teacher, Reachout ASC, Leyland
