This resource provides four ways to answer questions: Answering or shaking of the head to indicate Yes and No to answers (non-verbal), choosing between a wrong and a right answer, sentence completion and providing a verbal answer.

If a child does well on any one of the four methods of answering, it will identify the level where assistance should begin. It will identify if a child understands and how much that child understands even if the child will not attempt to answer. This is the recommended book for very early learners to begin work and will help in planning their program.
