  • All Aboard for Blackpool! (1953): This colour film was made for the centenary of W & J Whiteheads, a large wool mill in Bradford. The workers go on an outing to Blackpool, laughing and joking on the train, piling out at Blackpool Central and enjoying all the traditional fun of this ever-popular seaside resort.
  • Family Fun on the Beach (1939): This film shows a family having simple fun on the sands at Filey, making their own entertainment, and one of the little girls enjoys her first paddle in the sea.
  • Bags of Fun at Butlins (1966): This film shows the non-stop entertainment that most people associate with the early days of Butlins. Although it was his third camp – after Skegness and Clacton – Billy Butlin saw this one at Filey as his pride and joy.
  • Delights of the Dales (1947): This film follows four young children on holiday with their families, exploring the Yorkshire Dales, with its beautiful landscape, rivers and waterfalls. When they visit Hawes, we also see a typical Dales village street, complete with sheep, and two men fishing in the river.
  • The Splendours of Scarborough (1959): This film was made by the Corporation of Scarborough and includes the original commentary. It highlights everything Scarborough had to offer at the time and encourages people to visit the seaside town as a wonderful holiday destination.
  • Cliffs and Caravans (1948): Families enjoy the sea and sand and relax in the sun whilst on holiday. They made their cliff-top caravans a real ‘home from home’ for the week.
