The more the anger gremlin eats, the angrier you get! There's only one way to stop him: starve him of angry feelings and behaviours, and make him disappear.

The more the anger gremlin eats, the angrier you get! There's only one way to stop him: starve him of angry feelings and behaviours, and make him disappear. This imaginative workbook shows young people how to starve their anger gremlin and control their anger effectively. Made up of engaging and fun activities. The tried-and-tested programme, based on effective cognitive behavioural therapy principles, can be worked through by a young person on their own or with a practitioner or parent, and is suitable for children and young people aged 10 years and over.

"What is an anger gremlin I hear you say? An anger gremlin is a hungry gremlin which sits on your shoulder. If you feed him with negative or irrational thoughts he will get bigger and fuller and you will become angry. In order to get rid of the anger gremlin you have to starve him of irrational thoughts. This book has been really useful for my son who is 10 years old. I have purchased anger management books previously, but they often contain lengthy explanations and less practical advice and activities. Starving the anger gremlin is full of activities and questions for your child to work through. Giving a form to the feeling of anger (the gremlin) has enabled my son to deal with his emotions. The workbook has provided him with a guide on how to deal with his gremlin and keep it under control. He really enjoyed working through the questions and particularly enjoyed drawing his own anger gremlin, which we refer to as Grimm. I particularly liked the anger diary worksheet as it asks just a few questions which made my son analyse his reactions and their consequences. There is also a page which makes your child look at his thoughts and encourages them to think more realistically and rationally in order to starve their gremlin. Overall I think this book is very useful and well worth £11.99. I can highly recommend it."
