StoryCards: Prepositions

These beautifully colour-illustrated cards with finger puppets have been designed to develop understanding of basic concepts and promote use of expressive language using a story format.

The reverse of each card features a photocopiable line drawing of the illustrations for colouring and creating activities to reinforce the concept. There are no words on the cards and the stories are told in four languages - English, German, French and Spanish - in an accompanying booklet, along with full instructions and suggested uses.

Each story is beautifully illustrated, featuring an endearing animal character: Bertie the Bluebird, Sam the Snail, Dot the Giraffe and Rolo the Hippo and includes a finger puppet of each animal featured in the stories.

Four stories depicting the prepositions: In, on & under; In front, behind & next to; Over, through & between and Above, below & around. Each preposition is repeated several times to enable the child to understand the meaning and, once understood, the child can progress to the next story. Can also be used to develop understanding of verbs and simple adjectives, as well as using the story itself for sequencing. Includes a finger puppet of each animal featured in the stories.
